Mere metres from the iconic West Pier (and the slightly less picturesque Brighton i360), you'll find an enclave of 90s-era cool which has survived decades of hospitality and hedonism, and still thrives as a highly Instagrammable hideaway: Hotel Pelirocco.
There’s a reason Pelirocco is dubbed the most rock 'n' roll hotel in Brighton/England/the Known Universe. It's such a smashing premises in Regency Square, a proper fun house (with prizes to be won) and the best vegan fry-up in Rockendom. There’s a Mod room, a Bowie room, a Dollywould room and a bar reserved for guests, decked out in seriously fab wallpaper from Brennan and Burch.
We wondered if Pelirocco might be a play on Pelicano, but it turns out the establishment takes its name from the Spanish word for a redhead, presumably the kind of guest who might choose to stay in the decadent Salon Rouge, complete with red satin robes and free-standing bathtub.
Hotel Pelirocco is ideally place to explore both Brighton and Hove. Within walking distance of all the best restaurants and bars in the area, you'll return to a warm and friendly welcome from manager Marko, who can tell you all manner of stories about the celebs who've graced the bedsheets, and the room service demands they've made at three in the morning. That said, he's also the very model of discretion!
Pelirocco celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025, making it the perfect time to pay your respects by clocking off, checking in and chilling out.
